The Hippoville presence at the RISD Student Art Sale back at the end of April was a resounding success. Here's some of the highlights:
"I love it!" ~ Bea, Age 10??A college student comes up asking for "hippo swag." He even wanted to buy the promotional poster that you can see at left. I'll have to remember that one for next year :)
"Illustrations are lovely"
"Vibrant colors"
"Cute" (Many times)
"Very nice"
"I'll be looking for your name"
Had two little (it's still difficult for me to judge kids' ages, but I'd say under 10) kids look at books --- so it wasn't just parents :)
"Very catchy"
and... "Not enough stories with cute characters that have a morale/message" ~ school counselor
Hippoville Fan Pages on Facebook
As part of the marketing effort leading up the RISD Student Art Sale, I put up a fan page on Facebook for Harry Hippo and Icdabaa. It's my hope that it'll be the place for our budding community of readers to visit for the latest scoop and provide feedback. After some thinking about the Hippoville brand, I created another Facebook Fan Page for just Hippoville. While Harry Hippo and Icdabaa are synonymous with Hippoville, it's not exactly the other way around with Hippoville. What it essentially boils down to is that for the Hippoville fan page there will be more emphasis on the Hippoville greeting cards and the Harry Hippo & Icdabaa fan page will be exclusively about the Adventures in Hippoville picture book series. So, if you're a fan of the Hippoville Cards or the Adventures in Hippoville Books, come find us on Facebook!
